Queensland's Sunshine Coast is 100 kilometers of pristine beaches bordered by beautiful blue water, one hour's drive north of the state capital, Brisbane, complemented by radiant sub-tropical rainforests and ancient volcanic mountain landscapes.
The region extends from the seaside town of Caloundra, west to the Glass House Mountains and Blackall Range, north to Noosa and Rainbow Beach and gateway to UNESCO world heritage listed Fraser Island.
Queensland's Sunshine Coast is only an hours drive from the Capital City, Brisbane. Visitors to the region are spoilt with stunning natural scenery from sparkling oceans, pristine beaches, rivers and lakes to cool waterfalls and rugged mountain terrain.
The Sunshine Coast is an enticing destination throughout all seasons with picture perfect weather ranging from 22 to 29 degrees celsius and 300 days of sunshine - ideal for the beach all year round.
The region boasts National Heritage listed Glasshouse Mountains that extend to the skyline in jagged peaks. Noosa has recently been declared as a UNESCO Biosphere reserve for sustainable living and the area is also the gateway to UNESCO world heritage listed Fraser Island.
Tourism Sunshine Coast is the regional body that works closely with its partners to promote and market this diverse destination to the world stage. The newly developed ‘Great Sunshine Way’ touring route will enable the region to be packaged up into tailored itineraries and include activities such as hot air ballooning, diving with sharks, deep sea fishing or kayaking on aqua blue oceans. Add in some sightseeing experiences, such as hiking in unspoilt National Parks, exploring the diversity of tranquil hillside villages and tasting locally produced wines and regional produce. The Sunshine Coast offers a myriad of accommodation options from luxury hotels to quaint hideaway cottages.
