What’s new for 2008-09:

BLUE SKY BREWERY

A new world-class venue and attraction situated in the heart of Cairns CBD on Lake Street, Blue Sky Brewery is scheduled to open to the public in June 2008. Its bar, restaurant and function rooms will attract locals and visitors alike, with its selection of boutique beers brewed onsite, comprehensive wine cellar, diverse modern cuisine, and dynamic, yet relaxed Tropical North Queensland atmosphere.

As the brewery is located onsite, customers will experience beer at its freshest, coming straight to the bar taps from the tanks. All of Blue Sky’s handcrafted beers are unpasteurised and brewed naturally, giving a distinct depth of flavour and fresh taste not found in mass-produced beers made by larger commercial breweries.

The Blue Sky Bar will also serve quality locally-distilled spirits and liqueurs and top Australian wines from its cellar, whilst the restaurant will use local produce and feature some unique dishes using beer as a tasty ingredient. Menus will advise the best types of beer or wine to match with particular food.

Regular brewery tours will be conducted throughout the day, giving insight into the craft brewing process. A knowledgeable guide will talk you through the main stages of brewing, with the highlight at the end of the tour: samples of a selection of beers for your tasting pleasure. Visitors can then learn more about the region’s history of beer brewing in the Brewseum, before browsing for souvenirs and merchandise in the well-stocked gift shop.

Blue Sky Brewery will make a unique venue for any event you may be planning, with its 4 function rooms holding up to 400 people and the main bar another 400 people.

BLUE SKY BIKE TOURS

Commencing in July 2008. Discover the highlights of Cairns with a small and personalised, morning or afternoon guided bike tour, lead by experienced, knowledgeable and fun guides.

All tours will include informative commentary, comfortable bicycles, safety equipment (helmet), water, brewery tour and tastings.
