Long Island

Hammocks swinging under palm trees, golden sandy beaches, gentle waves lapping at the shore and miles of tropical rainforest to explore: welcome to Long Island Resort. Nestled in the glorious Whitsundays, in the heart of the Great Barrier Reef, Long Island Resort has all the facilities you’d expect from an award-winning three-and-a-half-star resort - including a day spa, 25-metre lap pool and two flood-lit tennis courts - plus a host of activities and entertainment for all ages. It’s little wonder that the resort is a favourite for couples, honeymooners, families and friends looking for an idyllic value-for-money island escape.

Activities

Enjoy the magic of nature via 12 miles of scenic walking tracks through national parkland, many leading to palm-fringed beaches.

Relax in a beachside hammock, savour a cocktail at the swim-up beach bar, compete in the coconut-throwing contest, or retreat to the soothing sanctuary of Club Spa. Then step up the pace with a host of water sports, from jet and water skiing to tube rides, catamaran sailing, parasailing and glass-bottom water bike rides.

For parents in need of some peace and quiet, the resort’s experienced Kids Club staff is at hand to entertain children from four to 14 years with an array of supervised activities such as arts and crafts, face painting, fish and bird feeding and a treasure hunt - and best of all, the Kid’s Club is free!

The resort’s all-inclusive packages ensure guests enjoy three delicious meals daily. All meals served in Palms Restaurant are presented buffet-style, guaranteeing a wide range of tempting treats. A more casual style of dining experience is offered at Café Paradiso.

Guests can avail themselves of a range of day tours. Join a cruise to the outer reef for a day of snorkelling and diving amid brilliant coral gardens and myriad of tropical fish. Jump aboard the Camira - one of the word’s fastest sailing catamarans - for an exhilarating ride to Whitehaven Beach or enjoy a bird’s eye view of the Whitsundays from your private helicopter as you escape to a secluded island with a gourmet picnic hamper.

Whatever you choose, you’re guaranteed a memorable holiday for any budget.
