Hayman Island

Beautifully situated in the magnificent Great Barrier Reef, Hayman is Australia's most celebrated private island destination. The most northerly island of the Whitsundays Group, Hayman invites guests into a world of privacy, luxury, relaxation, fine wines, abundant dining and breathtaking scenery. A member of The Leading Hotels of the World, this idyllic retreat has won a host of prestigious local and international awards.

Activities

Hayman has the beach experience down to a fine art. Go swimming, catamaran sailing, windsurfing or paddleskiing on the beautiful crescent-shaped beach that hugs the resort. Or visit the island’s two picturesque Blue Pearl Bay beaches for coral viewing, snorkeling and private picnic lunches. Take to the skies in a seaplane or helicopter - or to the sea in one of Hayman’s fleet of pleasure craft - to enjoy more remote beaches, including the silica sands of renowned Whitehaven Beach.

The island’s Marine Centre is the hub of all things aquatic, offering diving and snorkelling trips to fringing and outer reefs, escorted half and full-day game fishing trips, private charters, water-skiing, sea kayaking and exhilarating inflatable tube rides - to name but a few activities. The waters surrounding Hayman provide some of the best fishing in the world, with Australian and international records continually established in the region. Home to the Hayman Yacht club, the island is also the Whitsunday’s premier sailing playground.

Gourmand or simply hungry guest: go behind the scenes and take a seat at The Chef’s Table in the resort’s main kitchen for a meal you’ll never forget. No matter where you dine - at one of the resort’s array of restaurants, on the beach, aboard a boat or by the pool (at seven times Olympic size, one of the largest in the Southern Hemisphere) - Hayman’s kitchen brigade of 50 international and Australian chefs ensures that every meal is a gastronomic experience.

A huge variety of land-based sporting activities, including tennis, golf putting and driving, archery and snooker is complimented by the pampering indulgence offered at the award-winning Spa Chakra Hayman. And for those with children, help is at hand at Hernando’s Hideaway, an exquisite cottage nestled in gardens near the marina that is home to the Kids Club and Crèche.

At Hayman, 5-star luxury is about superb service in a sublime natural setting.
