Dunk Island

Golden sands, palm-lined beaches, tranquil waters and a thriving rainforest. Dunk Island is Australia’s most spectacular rainforest island. It was known to the first inhabitants as "Coonanglebah", the isle of peace and plenty. Today, the palm-fringed beaches and lush rainforests of this tropical island are ideal for those who want to enjoy time out or the time of their lives. With a huge variety of activities, facilities and experiences to choose from, you’ll be tempted to extend your stay indefinitely.

Located in a national park, and lying midway between Townsville and Cairns, the resort is one of a few tropical islands that puts you within easy reach of the Great Barrier Reef.

Activities

With so many activities to choose from on Dunk, it's hard to decide what to do next - horse-riding along the beach, rainforest walks, catamarans, tandem sky diving, golf, or visiting the Island Farm or Artist’s Colony. For a change of pace, get away from it all to a sun-soaked beach with a gourmet picnic hamper, or indulge yourself at the Spa of Peace & Plenty, with treatments designed to rejuvenate your mind, body and soul.

Dunk has a variety of restaurants and eateries designed to match your mood. The Beachcomber Restaurant more than caters for all those à la carte cravings. With a postcard view across the palm-fringed beach to distant islands, the Plantation Bar and Deck is perfect for a quiet drink together. And Jetty's Café is great for a relaxing bite to eat.

For the family, Dunk is as good as it gets. There are heaps of things to do together, but when Mum and Dad want some time out, the Kids Club gives 3-12-year-olds plenty to do: treasure hunts, nature arts and crafts, rainforest discovery walks and turtle spotting - to name but a few of the activities on offer.

And for couples looking for romance, nothing compares to ending the day with a cocktail in hand, watching the perfect sunset.

Voyages Dunk Island is your natural playground.
